Alton Mitchell Pope "Bimbo" was born in Houston, Harris County, TX on October 26, 1953. He was 72, 2 months shy of 73. He passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at his home in Post, TX. 

He grew up between Post, Houston-Tomball Texas area all his life. He attended high school at Tomball High School. Everyone knew he was a man of many trades for work. Alton was also a big fan and supporter of the Houston Texans. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Alton and Eunice (Yarbro) Pope, and all of his siblings. 

He is survived by his daughter Dawn Pope and son in law Shawn Jackson. four grandchildren Jeffery Branson, Dixie Owens, Daisy Bruce and Daniel Bruce, Jr. and seven great grandchildren. He also had close bonds with friend's the Curtis's, his home health lady Miss. Erine and Rascal the family dog. 

A celebration of life will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Post City Park.
