Arthur “Bo”
K. Jackson
July 7, 1936 – January 1, 2025
Arthur K. Jackson (Bo) died in his home surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born on July 7, 1936, to parents Nora and Lawrence Jackson, in Draw, Texas, and passed from his earthly life on January 1, 2025. He was 88 years and 6 months old. He was self-employed most of his working life. He co-owned with his brother, Jim, Jackson Bros. Meat Packers. They are famous for their Jackson Bros. Pepper Beef Jerky and German Link Sausage. Jim opened Chaparral Steak House, while Bo continued to own and operate the meat packing plant. He eventually sold the plant to two very worthy and talented young men: David Hernandezand Joe Rodriquez. Bo also owned and operated Bo Jackson Cement and Construction.
Bo and wife, Marita Truitt Jackson moved to Post in 1957 on their honeymoon. They have been married 68 ½ years. They have 3 daughters: Peggy Lynn Graves (Gary), Susan Kaylene Strawn (Jay), and Cindee Ann Reiter (Jackie). They are very proud of 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Bo has been a member of First Baptist Church, Post, for 64 years, serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and leader, and Training Union Leader. He made missionary trips to Thailand and St. Kitts. He had a unique ministry in deliverance and wrote a book about some of his experiences: GO….SAVE, HEAL, DELIVER.
Bo and Marita loved to travel the USA, Canada, and Mexico in their motorhome. Bo attended Texas Tech on a track scholarship. He was an avid sports fan and loved and supported the Post Bold Gold Antelopes.
Bo supported the Post community by serving as a past member and past president of White River Lake Municipal Water Board for 21 years.
Bo is survived by sisters: Kathrene Welch and Rosie Hair, Lamesa, Texas. His siblings, Modean Pewitt, Jim, Lawrence, and Maurice Jackson preceded him in death. He is a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. A visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2025 at the funeral home.
