Bob was born February 19, 1932 in Markley, Texas to Tobe and Idda Belle Palmer.  He was one of 7 brothers and 2 sisters, all of whom he will enjoy in his heavenly home.  There was hardly a meal in this home that didn't include 2-3 slices of bread on top as an essential to their meals.  He celebrated a milestone 90th birthday this year.

He worked his entire lifetime in the oilfield industry.  bob worked for Cities Service Oil Co in the Electra and Welch fields for 16 years.  In Electra he was a member and deacon of Hillside Baptist Church.  He and Barbara raised Sammie and Thressa there.  They were avid supporters of the community.  In 1973 he began Palmer Oilfield Construction in Post with one roustabout truck and a crew of 3 including himself.  In 1976 he purchased a well servicing business with brother Monk Palmer and began Palmer Well Service with 40 employees, 9 well servicing units, 3 hot oil trucks and 17 pickups.  Bob and Monk were awarded Citizens of the Year in Post in 1984 by Rep. Kent Hance.  Bob was an avid supporter of Post Athletics and the Booster Club. Bob, Sammie and Monk were also awarded "Friends of the 4-H" in 1982.

The game of golf became a passion for Bob.  Many fun years were shared on golf courses across the area, many times followed by a competitive gin rummy game.

He is survived by wife Debbie Palmer; 6 children, Sammie Palmer and wife Karen of Post, Thressa Baker and husband H of Stanton, Bunny Lynch and husband Scooter of Hubbard, Jase Estep of Lubbock, Sid Estep of Lubbock, Deeje' Estep of Kress.  He is also survived by grandchildren Amber Massey, Stephanie Smith, Tonya Harp, Sonya Ellis, Robby Palmer, Miranda Ferguson, Lauren Lynch, Morgan Lynch, Brooke Rinehart, Alexis Estep and Elli'Ann Byrne.

Great-grandchildren Ashlee Rushton, Allison Massey, Jackie Milton, Cade Ellis, Blaze Smith, Stone Eaton, Colter Smith, Payton Smith, Sarah Palmer, and Katelyn Ferguson.  He loved his little great-great-grands, Gryffin Massey and Ember Rushton.  He is also survived by sister-in-law LaVena Palmer.

Bob was a member of Indiana Ave. Baptist Church in Lubbock.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22 from 6pm to 7:30pm at Hudman Funeral Home in Post, TX.

Services will be Wednesday, March 23 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Post with Bro. Steve McMeans pastor of Indiana Ave Baptist Church in Lubbock and Bro. Keith Garner officiating.
