Born March 19, 1943 in Graham, Texas to GR and Christine Cowley. He defeated Alzheimer's October 30, 2021. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He married the love of his life, Melinda Carter, on October 21, 1968 in Lubbock, Tx. They celebrated 53 years of dedicated love to each other. They made their home in Lubbock for 42 years prior to relocating to San Angelo to be closer to their only child Amy Cowley and grandson Chantz Elliott. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob Cowley, sister-in-law Laura Cowley and brother-in-law Jerry Murphey. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Melinda, daughter Amy, his "boy" Chantz, sisters Linda (Ray) Shaw and Terry Murphey and his two poodles Maxine and Stella and nieces and nephews he loved so much. Pallbearers are nephews Ronnie Cowley, Randy Murphey, Bill Murphey, Joey Cowley, Derreck Cowley and Josh Cowley. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 pm-7:30pm at Hudman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 am in Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests purchasing a meal for a veteran / current service member. Make a donation or adopting at your local animal shelter.
