Services for Charles Allen Wallace, 72, of Post will be at 11 AM, Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Post Church of Christ with Travis Sweet officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 until 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
Charles died on October 23, 2021 near his home. He was born on April 8, 1949 in Garza County to Harley and Johnie (Hester) Wallace. He graduated from Post High School and attended Sul Ross State College for 1 year before enlisting in the US Air Force and serving in Vietnam. He married Kay Altman on February 26, 1971 in Post. Charles was a member of the Church of Christ.
Charles worked for Cox Lumber Company for many years before purchasing the firm and renaming it Wallace Lumber Company. He later worked for the Texas Highway Department in the general warehouse. He was a former member of the Post City Council and was named Citizen of the Year in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Wallace of Post, three daughters: Angela Antillon of Post, Amy (Gabe) Perez of Crowley and Andrea (Brant) Windham of Luxemburg, Wi., Two Brothers: Dicky (Nancy) Wallace of Post and Johnny (Cindy) Wallace of San Antonio,one sister: Shirley Bishop of Hondo, eight grandchildren: Alex (David) Martin of Post, Lexi Antillon of San Angelo, Kaylem Perez of Ft. Worth, Keegan Perez of Post, Karagan Perez of Crowley, Raigen Windham of Arizona, Everette Windham of Luxemburg, Wi. and Trinity Windham of Luxemburg, Wi. and six great grandchildren
