Remembering Claudette Elizabeth Martin Gill

Dear Family and Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Claudette Elizabeth Martin Gill, who went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

Claudette was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of people with her kindness and warmth. We will be holding a viewing on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Hudman Funeral Home in Post, Texas. Followed by a celebration of life graveside service on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Terrace Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Jimmy Valdez, and burial will follow in the Terrace Cemetery by Hudman Funeral Home of Post.

Claudette was born on February 10, 1947, to Leslie and Kathrine Martin in Little Rock, Arkansas. She moved to Texas with her family in 1953, where she later met the love of her life, Archie Gill. They were married on July 23, 1965. Claudette retired from Post ISD after 20 years of dedicated service, where she worked in the lunchroom and drove the school bus. She absolutely loved driving her "kids" on the bus, tending to her flowers, playing slot machines, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Leslie and Kathrine, her infant child, Allen David, and her sisters-in-law, Audrey Martin, and Evelynn Vines.

Claudette leaves behind many beloved family members, including her husband, Archie Gill of Post, Texas, her sons, Kenneth (Kimberly) Gill of Slaton, Texas, and Robert (Shannon) Gill of Amarillo, Texas, her sister, Paulette (Stephen) (Ashely) Hutchinson of Medicine Park, Oklahoma, and her brother, Ray Martin of Lawton, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind Ricky (Margie) Gill of Post, Texas, Vickie Cotter of Post, Texas, and Lois Williams of Oklahoma.

Claudette's legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren: Nathaniel Gill of Pueblo West, Colorado, Leslie Gill of Lubbock, Texas, Kirk Flowers of Sour Lake Texas, Isabella (Daniel) Huffman of Bay City, Texas; Kailey (Casey) Ruckman of Shallowater, Texas, Morgan (Hadley) Bunch of Clovis, New Mexico, Jacob (Destry) Meiwes of Hereford, Texas, and Joshua (Brianna) Meiwes of Hereford, Texas. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Lila Mae Ruckman of Shallowater, Texas, Benton and Brynnley Bunch of Clovis, New Mexico, Tatum Meiwes of Hereford, Texas, Hayden Huffman of Bay City Texas, Noah Flowers of Sour Lake Texas, and Noah Silleman of Medicine Park, Oklahoma. Additionally, she treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.

The Family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our Nursing Home Family at Post Nursing – Rehab Center. Thank You for your love!

We invite you to join us in celebrating Claudette's life and honoring her memory. Your support during this challenging time means a great deal to our family.
