Clayton Lee
Oden
February 6, 1981 – May 24, 2026
Clayton Lee Oden, 45, was born on February 6, 1981 to Carl Oden and Toni Rackley in Lubbock, Tx. He returned to his creator on May 24, 2026.
Funeral services are pending with Hudman Funeral Home.
Clay spent his life working in many areas of construction. He was hardworking in every sense of the word, a true jack of all trades.
Clay was naturally curious and loved to learn.
There are some people whose presence alone changes the atmosphere of a room, and Clay was one of them. He had a way of making people laugh, feel comfortable, and feel seen.
His quick wit and sense of humor could lighten even the hardest moments.
Clay was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. His children were the pride of his life, and no matter what he faced personally, he always made sure they knew they were loved.
He was deeply human: intelligent, emotional, flawed; funny, compassionate, and
unforgettable. Clay knew hardship and made mistakes, but he was also an overcomer. He was loved deeply, and he loved deeply in return.
Clay is survived by his son, Dylan Oden of Elko, Nevada; his daughter, Paris Oden of Lubbock; his long-time partner, Cheryl Espenscheid; his brothers, Shawn Oden and Ty Rackley of Shallowater; his father, Carl Oden of Shallowater; his mother, Toni Rackley of Lubbock; and his grandmother, Sandra Bednarz of Lubbock.
Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories, laughter, lessons, and love he gave to others will continue to live on through all who knew him.
