Obituary

Cynthia Ann Morris Colvin Was born on December 4th, 1957 to DE and Mettie Nell Morris. Her homecoming in Heaven was September 6th, 2026.

Cynthia, or “Cymp” to her closest friends and family, grew up in Post, TX and graduated Post High School in 1976. She went on to attend Western Texas College in Snyder, earning her cosmetology degree. While pursuing her education, she met, and fell in love with Mike Colvin. In 1985, she became a mom to Clifford Lee. In 1991, Mike and Cymp married and went on to spend their 35 years with each other, building a beautiful life together. In 1997, their daughter, Katie Lyn joined the family. In 2010, Cynthia was promoted to Gigi with the birth of her granddaughter Jaelynn. While the family grew, Cynthia held a long and fulfilling career as “the beauty shop lady”, owning and operating “The Beauty Post” in Manna Square in Post, TX.

Cynthia poured all of her energy and love into her family, enriching their lives with fervent prayer, motivational advice and the funniest stories. If she wasn’t behind the chair at the beauty shop, you could find her on adventures with Mike on the motorcycle, at her kitchen table sewing or looking through pictures and especially in the kitchen preparing dinner and the best holiday pies. Her servant heart and love for her community led to her gifting funeral home guests with their last hair style which was an honor she loved dearly.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Mike Colvin, of Post, TX. Her children: Cliff (Taryn) Colvin of Liberty Hill, TX and Katie Colvin of Lubbock, TX; her granddaughter: Jaelynn Colvin; Her Siblings: Dewayne Morris of Post; Kathie Nelson of Post, TX; Sherri Davis (Tommy Barger) of Wolfforth, TX and Judy (Larry) North of Lubbock, TX; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday Sep. 10th from 5:00-6:00pm. Services will be on Friday September 11th, at 10:00am with a graveside service to follow. Visitation and memorial service will be at Hudman Funeral Home and the burial at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home in Post, TX.
