Dan Rankin, 77, of Post died November 23, 2019  at his home.  He was born November 25, 1941 in Garza County to Howard and Katherine (Kennedy) Rankin.  He married Kathie Clyatt on July 29, 1967 at the First United Methodist Church in Irving, Texas.  He received his masters in education from Texas Tech University and dedicated his life to education as both a teacher and principal at Post ISD Elementary for 36 years.  He was a member of the Post Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathie.  Survivors include son Bill Rankin and wife Gina of Post; brother, Ken Rankin of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Blake Carr of Little Rock, Ark., Madison (Marc) Vega of Post, Emily Rankin of Post & Carter Rankin of Post; and 2 Great Grandchildren.

Dan loved spending time with his family & friends, fishing and woodcarving.

Services will be held Wednesday November 27, 2019 at 2:00PM at the Post Church of Christ with Travis Sweet officiating. Interment will follow in Terrace Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to Post Church of Christ or Texas Home Health Hospice.
