Eunice N. Pope was born in Wilson, TX on Oct. 19, 1925. She departed this life Feb. 28, 2025, at the incredible age of 100. Shehas lived in Post since 1991 when she moved with her husband Alton Pope who preceded her in death in 2006. She also lived in Tomball, TX for many years and traveled the United States with her husband after his retirement in their 5th wheel RV. She was a seamstress for many years and even did that in her free time and sewed for many people of Post.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Cathline Lovell; daughter Ida Pope; son James Pope; granddaughter Kirstyn Brammer; and great-great grandson Oliver Rodriguez.
She is survived by her son Alton Mitchell Pope, brother Willard A. Yarbro, both of Post; son Jason Pope of Amarillo, TX.;grandchildren Dawn, Dameon, Devon, and Samantha; 16 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
Eunice was loved and cherished by so many and touched so many people who ever had the opportunity to meet her and get to know her. Among these people are her two great nephews, Quinton and Clinton Yarbro, and Shelly (Shelby) Duran, who were at her side in her final moments in her earthly home.
And with great appreciation and love to her special friends, Debbie (Dennis) Mason, Hildegard Marlin, Teresia Williams, Walter (Melissa) Perez, Erin Ayala, Amanda Hair, Dana Babb, and Georgia Dean.
Funeral services were held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Charles Gibson and Rev. Keith Garner officiating. Interment followed at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
