Graveside services for Gary Gene Halford,67, of Post will be at 2 PM Friday, October 16, 2020 in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock. Arrangements are under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.

Gary passed away on October 13, 2020 in Post, Texas. He was born on June 11, 1953 in Lubbock to Luther D. and Geneivive (Reynolds) Halford and grew up on the family farm near New Home, Texas in Lynn County. Gary attended New Home schools and graduated from New Home High School in 1970. He enjoyed showing animals and sports but was limited by severe asthma and what was to be a life-long battle with respiratory problems.

Gary attended South Plains College and Angelo State University and farmed several years in the New Home community. He was a voracious reader and enthusiastic fan of Texas Tech Sports. He was preceded in death by his parents Luther D. and Geneivive Halford. He is survived by his sister Eddie Jo Miller and husband Joe of Post and by his nephew Cameron Miller, his wife Janell and great-nephews Carson and Casey of Syracuse, New York.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Post EMT for being there for Gary on several occasions and to the staff of the Post Housing Authority where he enjoyed living his last years.
