Obituary

Jack Morris went to be with his lord and savior on Saturday, June 24, 2023. after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Terrace Cemetery and a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:30 A.M. at Graham Chapel Methodist Church with John Bill Hedrick officiating. Services are under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. He was born February 11, 1939 to Dillard Clinton Morris and Wanda (Hill) Morris in Garza County. He was the oldest of three born to Dillard and Wanda. Jack attended Close City Schools and Graduated from Post High School in 1957. He married Jean Johnston on October 3, 1964 in the home of her parents in Post, Texas. Jack and Jean made their home in the Close City Community He was a hard working farmer for all of his life. He was a member of the Graham Chapel Methodist Church. Jack is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Jean, a son Rusty (Christi) of Post, a daughter Dana (Mike) of Longview, TX., and daughter Nancy of Post, and bonus son Trent (Tara) Laurence of Post. One Sister; Sheila (James) Melton of Post. Four Grandchildren, Russ Morris of Lubbock, Jake Morris of Post, Macie Comer Of Austin and Laura Carter of Longview. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dillard and Wanda Morris and one brother Jerry Morris. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Graham Chapel Methodist Church, Graham Community Center or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
