Obituary

Jackie Wade Ainsworth was born on August 22, 1935, in Snyder, Texas, to Hardie and Iva
(Collier) Ainsworth. Jack was a graduate of Post High School; upon graduation, Jack enlisted in
the US Navy and proudly served his country for four years. On December 22, 1964, Jack
married Charlene Franklin and proudly adopted their daughter Gina.
In 1965 Jack re-enlisted in the US Navy and worked as a computer analyst; in1970, Jack was
stationed in Vietnam where he served two years. When he returned in 1972, Jack and his family
moved to Virginia, where he began his work at the US Pentagon and served there until his
retirement in 1978.
Upon his retirement, Jack and Charlene moved to Jack's childhood hometown of Justicburg,
Texas. He worked for the city of Lubbock as a data processor for four years. In the early '80s,
Jack and Charlene moved to Colorado City, Texas, to Charlene's family farm, where he spent
the remainder of his day farming.
In January 2020, Charlene passed away after 56 years of marriage. Later that year, Jack
married long-time friend Linda Powers, who lovingly cared for him for the past two years.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Hardie and Iva, his older sister Maurice (Bug)
Green, his brother Bruce Ainsworth, and his loving wife, Charlene Ainsworth.
Jack is survived by his wife, Linda Ainsworth of Lubbock, daughter Gina (Deb) Palmer of Post;
Step-daughter Wendy Sarich of McKinney, Tx; Grandchildren: Heather (Zeke) Garcia of
Lubbock; Keatha (Jon) Courchaine of Carmel, In, Heath Palmer of Post. Great-Grandchildren:
Nolan and Palmer Courchaine; Bently, Collier, and Aspen Garcia.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 31, 2022, at 10:30 am at Terrace Cemetary.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Post EMS or Post Fire
department.
