Janice Sue Stelzer, affectionately known as Jan and best remembered as Nana, was born on October 12, 1941, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 26, 2025, in Post, Texas. Originally from St. John, Kansas, Jan moved to Texas at an early age and spent the majority of her life in Post, Texas. She was a loving mother to two children, Jackie Stelzer and Carla Stelzer, and lived her life selflessly, always helping and caring for those around her. Jan had a deep affection for her family and cherished the time spent playing with her grandchildren. There was never a game she wasn't willing to play, as her joy was in making memories with her loved ones.

Jan leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Carla and her husband Terry Odom, and her daughter-in-law Beckie Stelzer. She is also survived by her companion, Jack Castelberry. Her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy, are Catrena Browning husband Rockie Browning, Joshua Odom wife Ali Odom, Chaz Odom wife Morgan Odom, Jenny Clark husband John Clark, Leticia Odom, Corina Odom, Evelyn Odom, and Mykayla Ortiz. The family line continues with her great-grandchildren: Kyra Browning, Kylie Browning, Kyndal Browning, Kyzer Browning, June Odom, Harlow Odom, Goldie Odom, Ellie Odom, Kyliah Vidales, Luke Vidales and Marshall Clark.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, C.C. and Carol Copeland, her sister Joanne Copeland, her son Jackie Stelzer, and her great-granddaughter Vera Odom.

The memories and time spent with Jan will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Her warm heart and infectious spirit touched everyone she met, leaving a legacy of love and kindness.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hudman Funeral Home. A service to honor Jan's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Post. Following the service, interment will take place at Terrace Cemetery.
