Jeremy
King
May 5, 1976 – July 16, 2022
Jeremy Dane King was born on May 5, 1976 and passed away at his home on July 16, 2022. Jeremy was the son of Robbie and Diane (Brockman) King. He grew up and lived most of his life in Post, TX. He graduated Post High School in 1995 and continued to be a huge Bold Gold supporter and fan. Jeremy attended South Plains College after graduation where he made lifelong friends. As anyone that knew him knew- he never met a stranger, so he had a lot of friends.
Jeremy was known to say he was a "Jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none". He had many different jobs throughout his life - fence building, cooking for different occasions, installing insulation in houses and his all-time favorite being was cowboying.
Jeremy was a talker and loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. Jeremy didn't have an easy life, but one wouldn't know it by looking. The Good Lord he loved seemed to keep giving him hurdles to which he kept clearing with his one good leg! And as most know he would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. Stumpy was a member of the Post Stampede Rodeo board and loved the PSR with all his heart.
Jeremy was a lover of kids and his were the best thing in his life if you asked him. His sons Brazos King and Dylan Greer live in Post and his daughter Dakota Greer lives in Lubbock. He loved his family - blood kin and all that he had claimed along his journey of life. He is survived by two sisters: Gaynell Carter and Melanie Fortenberry both of Lubbock, and nephews Rusty (Leslie)Workman, Shawn (Natasha) Thomas, and Brynn (Emily) Ireland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Amanda King on May 31, 2002, and one daughter Michelle Martin on June 3, 2002.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 until 7:30 PM at Hudman Funeral Home. Services for Jeremy 'Stumpy' King, 46, of Post will be at 10 AM Wednesday at the Post School Auditorium with burial to follow at the Cross-H Ranch under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the Post Stampede Rodeo in Jeremy's memory.
