Services for Jewel Steel, 95, of Post will be at 11 AM Friday, August 25, 2017 in the Hudman Funeral Home Chapel with Charles McCook officiating. Burial will be in terrace Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 until 7:30 PM at the funeral Home.
Jewel died on August 20, 2017 in Post. She was born on November 28, 1921 at Graham Chapel west of Post on the Newberry Fram to Hugh and Mary Brown Caywood.
She was a lifelong resident of Garza County attending school at Graham Chapel, Close City, Barnum Springs and graduated from Post High School. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Jewel married Joyce (J. C.) Steel on June 17, 1939 in Post.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2011 and by a daughterMarilyn in 2013. She is survived by her son Curtis Steel and wife Judy of Post, two granddaughters; Lisa Johnson and husband Don of Stillwater, Ok and Amy Case of Carbondale, Co.; two Great Grandsons; Josh Garrido and his wife Shannon and Will Konemann; two Great Great Grandchildren; Emaleigh and Evan Garrido. She is also survived by Linda Lane Runkles, a special friend who was like a daughter to her and other special friends Billie Lowe, Linda Collazo, Onieta Gunn, Troy Case, Drew Gibbs and Billy Stone.
