Services for R. J. (Jim) Hutton, 79, of Post will be at 2 PM Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the First Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hudman Funeral Home.
Jim died on July 15, 2017 in Post. He was born on July 31, 1937 in O'Donnell, Texas to R. J. And Kim (Ensminger) Hutton Sr.. Raised in Post he married Jackie Sue Mason, the love of his life, on June 9, 1956.
Together, Jim and Jackie raised four children in Fort Stockton, Texas. Jim spent over 40 years working in the oil field spending the majority of that time with Parker Drilling Company. He started working at age 17 as a roughneck and retired as a consultant.
He is survived by his wife Jackie of Post, son Mark (Brenda) Hutton of Missouri City, daughters Marla Stanford (Wade) of Palestine, Lisa Huelster (Brian) of Odessa and Nancy Durham (John) of Post Aransas and sister Kathy Wright of Abilene, 11 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving Jimare Brothers-in-law Lewis Mason (Jane), G. T. Mason, Glynn Barron and sister-in-law Marilyn Mason as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in law Jody Mason, Roger Wright and sisters-in-law Helen Mason, Joy Barron and Brenda Mason.
The family would like to thank Julie Gonzalez for her companionship and faithfulness to Jim and Jackie. She has been a Godsend to all the family.
Above all Jim loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his wife and family. He served many years as a deacon and had a great love for southern gospel music. He was a hard headed jokester and was well loved.
