Funeral services for Jo Ann Moreman Miller, of Lubbock, Texas, will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Hudman Funeral Home in Post, Texas. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
Jo Ann was born on October 30, 1937, in Post, Texas, to Robert Weaver Moreman and Pearl Collins Moreman. She passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025.
Jo Ann grew up in Post, Texas, and graduated from Post High School, where she was Class Historian and aDrum Major for the Antelope Band.
She married Darwin Leon Miller on November 2, 1956, and together they shared a loving marriage and raised three sons. Jo Ann devoted the early years of her life to being a full-time mother, deeply involved in her sons' education, sports, and community activities. She volunteered with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and numerous youth sports leagues, always offering her time and encouragement to those around her.
Leon and Jo Ann were fortunate during their married life to live in many different cities, including Post, Midland, Lubbock, Big Spring, Phoenix, Arizona, Birmingham, Alabama, Duncanville, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Amarillo, San Antonio and Boerne, Texas. She was also fortunate to spend many months in Tres Ritos, New Mexico, supporting Leon while he ran a Boy Scout camp, and one summer working as a camp counselor at Camp Summer Life.
Professionally, Jo Ann began her career with Weight Watchers International, where she achieved lifetime member status. She later joined the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where she served as an Environmental Specialist. During her distinguished career, she managed a saltwater reclamation project for the Osage Nation in Oklahoma, a role from which she ultimately retired.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Weaver and Pearl Moreman, her sister, Janice Moreman and her sister-in-law Jo Sims.
She is survived by her husband, Darwin Leon Miller of Lubbock, Texas; her brother, Larry Moreman of Lubbock, Texas; and her three sons and their families:
• Joel Scott Miller and wife Pamela of Boerne, Texasand Santa Fe, New Mexico
• Gregory Tim Miller and wife Cindy of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas and Roswell, Georgia
• Larry David Miller and wife Andrea of Phoenix, Arizona and Santa Fe, New Mexico
She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Ryan Miller and wife Michelle Ferguson of Sachse, Texas; Katy Miller and husband Greg Farr of Marietta, Georgia; Allyson Wolfe and husband Christian of San Antonio, Texas; and Kelly Harlos and husband Elliott of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas.
Jo Ann leaves behind two great-grandchildren, SuttonFarr of Marietta, Georgia, and Miller "Millie" Brooke Harlos of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, who brought her immense joy in her later years. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends whom she cared for deeply and who will cherish her memory always.
Jo Ann will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her life was a reflection of compassion, dedication, and grace.
