Obituary

On September 19, 2020 Joann Nolan transitioned from this life, into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be missed by her family and friends who are comforted in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with her husband, Dean "Cedar" Nolan in Heaven.

Survivors include her children, Ricky Nolan of Benjamin, Tx, Jimmy Nolan of Weatherford, Tx and Pattie Nolan of Weatherford, Tx; Grandchildren, Monty Nolan of Valle, Az, Ricky "Bubba" Nolan of Throckmorton, Tx,and Britnee Perkins of Conroe, Tx; great grandchild, Reina Nolan of Throckmorton, Tx;brothers Leon Jordan of Throckmorton, Tx., Wade Jordan of Wilderado, Tx and Terry Jordan of West Columbia, Tx.; sisters Joyce Haynes of Weatherford, Ok., Linda Kinney of Nevada, Tx and Jean Bachmann of Coppers Cove, Tx.

She will be welcomed into heaven by her husband, Dean "Cedar" Nolan;parents HL"Harley" and Gladys Jordan; brother Lanston Jordan; sisters Maurene Rodgers, Marybeth Jordan, Jane Jordan; grandson Spencer Nolan, and her little dog Lollie.

Joann was born on December 26, 1936. She married Dean "Cedar" Nolan on July 9, 1955 and they were married for 56 years until his death on November 17, 2011. Throughout their marriage Joann supported Cedar in his chosen professionas a ranch hand and foreman by working alongside him cooking for the cowboys during the shipping and branding seasons. Thay lived on a number of ranches over the years in the Panhandle and West Texas with the last being the Byrd Ranch in Andrews, Texas where they lived for over 21 years.

Joann was well known for her good cooking. She enjoyed keeping flowerbeds full of blooms, sewing, and arts and crafts and was a talented artist. Joann and Cedar had two boys early on in their marriage and later adopted an infant daughter a few years later. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Joann was a member of the Church of Christ most of her adult life and her relationship with Christ was one of her top priorities. After Cedar passed, she moved to Conroe, Tx in December 2011 where she lived until she moved to the Weatherford, Tx area in the spring of 2020. She left this world talking to God, and listening to her favorite singer Allen Jacjsonsing "How Great Thou Art."
