John W. Keeling of Justiceburg, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 14th in Lubbock, TX.

John was born in San Angelo, TX on July 13, 1947 to Charles T “Doc” and Imogene Keeling. The Keelings moved to Hobbs NM when John was young. John graduated from Hobbs High School in 1965. On June 24, 1969 John married Nancy Smauley in Hobbs NM. John and Nancy had one son, Christopher Keeling, who preceded them in death.

John worked for Conoco Oil Co. for 18 years; He later worked for Watson Truck and Supply before retiring. John was a talented craftsman and enjoyed building custom cars, motorcycles, and racing bicycles.

After retirement, the couple moved to Lake Allen Henry in Justiceburg, TX where he and Nancy enjoyed boating, fishing, and water skiing.

John is survived by his brother Mark Keeling and wife Jan, nephew Jason Keeing, and niece Shayla Nuttall. He is also survived by two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Keeling, son Chris and parents Charles and Imogene Keeling.

A graveside service will be held for John on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:30 AM at the Justiceburg Cemetery in Justiceburg, TX with Travis Sweet of the Post Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
