Obituary

Johnnie LaGayluah Young McReynolds of Post, Texas, left this world wrapped in the same love she spent her life giving to others. Born April 22, 1949, in Lubbock to Ray and Dovie Young, she was the youngest of five children — the baby of the family — and she carried that mix of sweetness, humor, and quiet strength all her days. She now rejoins her parents and her siblings Glenda, Gloria, Raynona, and Gaylon, whose memories she held close and spoke of with tenderness.

LaGayluah lived with a heart that never stopped giving. She loved the Lord with a steady, unwavering faith, and she lived that faith in the way she treated people — gently, kindly, and with a warmth that made everyone feel welcome. She had a way of making life softer just by being in the room.

Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. Baylee, Bella, and Brystol were the center of her world. Whether it was a dance recital, a competition, a baseball game, or any moment that mattered to them, she was there — front row, smiling big, cheering loud, and soaking up every second. She never missed a chance to be part of their lives. They were her pride, her joy, and the brightest part of her days.

To her daughter, she was the best momma in the world — steady, loving, supportive, and always there when she was needed. Her love was the kind you could lean on, the kind that shaped a life, the kind that stays forever.

She is survived by her husband, Will McReynolds of Post; her daughter, Jamie Bennett, and son‑in‑law, Randall; her beloved grandchildren, Baylee, Bella, and Brystol; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Each one carries a piece of her — her laugh, her faith, her kindness, and her fierce devotion to the people she loved.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and honor her life.

A graveside service will follow at Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Loved ones will come together to celebrate a woman whose love made life brighter, gentler, and better for everyone blessed to know her.

LaGayluah touched countless lives, and she will be missed by so many. Her legacy is simple and powerful: love your people with your whole heart, show up for them, and keep your faith close. She was a momma whose love never wavered, and her memory will forever be a blessing to those she leaves behind.
