Obituary

Johnnie Fay Norman, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Wisteria Assisted Living in Abilene, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Norman, infant son Jeffrey Lynn Norman, son Johnny Jay Norman, parents John M. Graham and Exa Fay Gilmore, brother George Graham and sister Beverly Baker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norman, formerly of Post, TX will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Post with family friend Jeff Williams officiating and grandson Shane Mobley delivering the eulogy with special memories. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home, 615 Main St, Post, TX. Visitation is scheduled for Friday 11:00 to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home prior to service.
Mrs. Norman graduated from Post High School in 1955. Shortly after, she married Jim "R" Norman on August 20, 1955, in Clovis, NM. They lived a full, happy life and raised their four children together on the family farm in the Graham Chapel Community until their retirement and subsequent move to Brownwood Lake, TX in 1998. The couple were married 56 years before Jim's death on February 14, 2011.
First and foremost, Mrs. Norman was a Christian, devoted wife and mother. She always put her family first and her husband Jim was the very light of her world. During the later years of raising her children, she was able to share her passion and creativity with her community as the owner of Jae's dress shop and bridal registry in downtown Post, TX.
Mrs. Norman is survived by a son, Jimmy and wife Nancy Norman of Post, two daughters, Jamie Penn of Abilene and Jarita and husband Steve Nowlin of Rotan, TX. She was a doting Grandmother to Amber and husband Shane Mobley of Sealy, TX, Aaron and wife Meghan Cooper of Giddings, TX, Jarrod Greene of Abilene, TX, Bryan and wife Kortni Nowlin of Lamesa, TX, Joel and wife Patricia Clary of Rotan, TX, Justin and wife Bandi Norman of New Home, TX and Nikki Norman of Cypress, TX. She also leaves behind loving great grandchildren, Kaegan and Zoee Jeffrey; Hunter and Hannah Mobley; Kenedy and Cain Cooper; Tanner Ray, Talyn Lewis, Wyatt Clary, Maddox, Brynn and Emmy Nowlin; Breely, Jaxon and Kason Norman; sisters, Barbie Bevers of Post, TX, Jenda and husband Randy Mattingly of Flower Mound, TX, Janet and husband Kim Carruth of Long Beach, CA.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Cooper, Jarrod Greene, Bryan Nowlin, Kaegan Jeffrey, Joel Clary, Tanner Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Cain Cooper and Justin Norman
