Julia Basquez Martinez 76, of Lawrence, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Post, Tx with Isaias Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
Julia was born June 19,1946 in Burlington, Tx to Antonio and Cresencia Perez Basquez. She married Elias Martinez, Sr on November 7,1968 in Austin, Tx.
She is survived by her husband, Elias Martinez, Sr of Lawrence, Kansas, Daughter, Margarita Brown, Daughter, Sylvia Crockett both of Lawrence, Kansas, sons, Elias Martinez, Jr of Post, Tx, Arthur Martinez of Lawrence, Kansas, sisters Paulita Flores of Post, Tx, Rosemary Candelas of Crosbyton, Tx, Caroline Saucedo of Kaufman, Tx, Josie Patterson of Crosbyton, Tx, brothers, Tommy Basquez of Hillsboro, Tx, Roland Basquez of Post, Tx, 18 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Drew Basquez, T.J. Basquez, Thadd Basquez, Trever Brown, Jacob Brown, and Bobbie Brown. Honorary Pallbearer will be D'Angelo Humphrey.
