Karron L. Hays was born October 23, 1962, Slaton Mercy Hospital. A brief illness was so much stronger than Karron, and she passed from this life on September 21, 2026.

As a child, Karron grew to love the outdoors, animals, and wildlife from spending time at “the farm” with her Ninnie and Papa, Max and Eloise Gordon. As a result of her love for animals, Karron majored in Animal Husbandry while attending Tarleton State University. During the time she lived in the Houston area, working for The Texas Animal Health Commission, she studied and became a certified Paralegal.

Loving the outdoors, Karron became interested in the energy industry and worked in the construction phase of wind and solar energy. She enjoyed traveling to job sites in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Idaho to be a part of building energy farms.

Anyone who knows Karron will tell you that she would do anything, night or day, to lend a helping hand to make things a little easier for that person. She loved to stop and visit, whether it be the grocery store, post office, dollar store, Brady’s, or on the sidewalk. She might tell you the same story a couple of times, just in case you didn’t get it the first time.

Karron will be the first to tell you that her life revolved around Kelsey. Making sure Kelsey’s needs were met before making plans for the day, then, and only then, taking a little time for herself or helping things run smoothly at her Mom’s house. And, of course, she took great care of her mom, Kay. She always tried to fix something herself rather than call someone to help.

Karron loved taking little road trips to concerts with Kelsey and her Mom, where the three would sing and dance the night away. Her favorite time for herself was golf, and her favorite course was Cree Meadows at Ruidoso, where the deer, elk, and mustangs were usually roaming.

Karron is survived by her Mom, Kay Hays; daughter Kelsey; Uncle Billy and Aunt Nancy Gordon; Alison Hays; Uncle Herb Hays; favorite cousins Darby Key, Marinette and Jerry Tyler; and special friend Rebecca Rich. Karron is preceded in death by her Dad, Jerry Hays; brother, Rodney Hays; and Grandparents, Max and Eloise Gordon.

An outdoor memorial is planned for a later date.
