Keith Taylor, 72, of Merkel and Ferris, Texas passed away on August 1, 2025, at home in Merkel. He was born October 8, 1952 in Atlanta, Ga. From the moment of birth, Keith had challenges. He was born with a congenital heart defect that could not be corrected at that time, His prognosis was that he was not likely to survive to reach his 12th birthday. In 1964, he had the first open heart surgery. In true Keith fashion, he overcame many health issues and surgeries throughout his life. His little body fought hard from the first breath to the last.

He graduated from Post High School in 1974. He worked several jobs, but his 2 favorites were Holly Brothers service station and Nancy's Bait Shop that he assisted in running with our mother for 25 plus years. He did not meet a stranger, only potential friends. Keith had such a sweet spirit that he drew people to him. The people he cared for were loved fiercely and without reservation. Keith loved fishing and went on many adventures with family and friends. He competed in playdays where he and his horse, Fancy, won a buckle and other prizes. Keith loved God and his church families in both Merkel and Ferris.

He is survived by brother, Roger and Cynthia Taylor of Merkel, Texas, Ramona Taylor and Kathy Underwood of Ferris, Texas, 9 nieces and 3 nephews, numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service and burial service will take place at the Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:00 am.
