Obituary

Kristen Nichole Carranza-Yates, went to her heavenly home suddenly at the age of 36 on June 9, 2024, in Post, Texas. She was a very loved and cherished daughter (Krisco to her dad), born to Johnny & Gloria Carranza on June 5, 1988, in Lubbock, Texas. Kristen's life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the depth of maternal love. She came to know her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a young age and often looked to Him for guidance and comfort.

Her greatest joy in life were her children, Kaylie, Bubby (Scoty), Kaydance, Kyndal, and her first born, Isaac.  She loved her children above all.  Always being a beacon of light for them and if need be, willing to take on the world in their defense, also instilling in them the same values of kindness and compassion, which were a part of her character. Her sisters and family knew her for her silly dance moves, love of cows (MOO), and affectionately calling her babies her monkeys. She loved to sing, her voice could soothe the most unhappy soul. Her life was filled with courage, strength and loyalty. Her smile lit up the room and her laugh was contagious. She was fun-loving and a joy to be around. She loved music of all genres and watching a good movie. Rain and thunderstorms may have been at the top of her list of things she loved to behold.

After graduating from Andrews High School, she received her Certificate in Medical Records in Midland, Tx.  After leaving Andrews Tx, she moved to Post Tx. While in Post she met and soon became the beautiful wife to Chasity Yates, married on February 26, 2016. Kristen worked at multiple locations in Post, but none were so special to her as being a Corrections Officer at the Giles W Dalby Correctional Facility.  While there she advanced to the position of Programs Manager. Concurrently with her position at the G W Dalby, she finished her training as an EMT for the Post EMS. She touched many lives and made a name for herself in the community throughout the years in Post.

Kristen was the beloved sister of Cassanda and Kimberly and held a special place in the hearts of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Patsy Salazar and Hector Carranza Sr and nephew Gabriel Carranza-Puente.

Kristen is survived by her parents, Johnny and Gloria Carranza, sisters Cassandra (Evan)Carranza Rains and Kimberly (Braulio)Carranza-Castro, Grandmother Rosa Carranza, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews including Ava, Aubrie, Alexis, Ariany, Jax and Ethan.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 14, 2024 at Post School Auditorium. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. A visitation will be 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Funeral Home.
