Obituary

Larry Don Richardson was born February 11, 1942 in Slaton, Texas to the late Floy and Dorothy Richardson. He had been a resident of Tyler since February 2020, formerly living in Elkhart and Big Spring. He was a Methodist by faith and enjoyed ranching and raising horses and cattle. Don passed away at the age of 79 on May 23, 2021.

Don graduated from Post High School in 1960, then completed his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. He furthered his education at West Texas A&M with an education degree, and then completed his master's degree at Texas A&M. He retired from the Texas Agri-Life Extension Service as County Agriculture Agent after serving in Seguin, Lampasas, Alice, and Big Spring for a total of 32 years. He also served as the state coordinator of the Texas Livestock Show Steer Validation Program for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sharion Richardson; son and daughter-inlaw, Blair and Marti Richardson of Denver, Co; daughter & son-in-law, Shauna and Chad Hittle of Tyler, Tx; brother & sister-in-law, Danny and Linda Richardson of Post; step-sister, Ann Howell of Lubbock; and three grandchildren, Bryce Richardson, Matthew Hittle & Tyler Hittle; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10 AM in Terrace Cemetery in Post under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
