Obituary


Rev. Malinda Finch was born October 31, 1949 in Shiner, Texas and departed this life to go home to be With the Lord on June 16, 2024 at Post Nursing and Rehab Center. She met and married Walter Finch on February 15, 1975 in Gonzales, Texas. Malinda Finch Was preceded in death by her parents Willie Ben and Alpha May Steemer. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Dorthy Freelon and Lucille Taylor and brother Maurice Steemer.

She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Slaton, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She would always say to "leave it to God, He would work it out".

She leaves to rejoice in her homegoing: Her four sons, Bobby Finch of Odessa Texas), Walter Lee Finch (Post Tx), Dondi Steemer( Post Tx), and Ken Finch (Post Tx). Four sisters Eva Forbs (Houston Tx), Myrtel Lewis (San Antonio Tx), Ruby Mathis Houston Tx), and Mable Pickett of (Houston Tx) and Five brothers, Donald Ray Steemer (Lubbock Tx), Ben Steemer (Houston Tx), Jimmy Steemer (Houston Tx), Ronald Steemer (Angleton Tx), and Melvin Steemer (Gonzales Tx). She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. and a host of nieces/nephews/and great greatgrandchildren and friends

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gatica, Jeremy Steele, Joshua Curtis, Dale Spann, Joey Ward, Jr. and Kevin Finch. Honorary pallbearers are Troy Gilbert, Bryan Justice, Chris Finch, Tyrell Terry, Stevie Price and Tracy Price

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Slaton with the Rev. C.C. Peoples officiating. Interment followed at Terrace Cemetery.
