Services for Melba Nelson Roberts, 84, of Lubbock will be at 10 AM Friday, June 25, 2021 at the New Deal First Baptist Church with Phil Hilton officiating. Burial in Terrace Cemetery in Post will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 7 PM at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Idalou.

Melba died on June 22, 2021 at her home near Lubbock. She was born on December 14, 1936 in Post to Claude and Nellie (Willingham) Redman. She was a food service manager prior to her retirement. She married Doyle Nelson on December 14,1954 in Post. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1988. She married Delmar "Bud" Roberts on June 22, 1999 in Clovis, Nm. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2019. She was also preceded in death by one son: Ronnie Nelson on June 27, 1983.

Survivors include three sons: Randy (Kathy) Nelson of Idalou, David (Becky) Nelson of New Deal and Billy (Whitney) Barron of Shallowater, one daughter: Tonie Lenert of Conroe, one brother: A. E. (Billie) Redman of Post, three sisters: Claudie Odom of Post, Edna McCowen of Odessa and Moi Smith of Tahoka, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
