Services for Nelda Dalby, 83, of Post will be at 2 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jerry Koch and Rev. Elizabeth Abraham officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalby Family Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
Nelda died on February 21, 2018 at her home near Post. She was born to Guy and Eldess (Hester) Floyd on July 21, 1934 in Cuthbert, Texas. She grew up in Post and graduated from Post High School. She married Giles W. Dalby Sr. on June 2, 1952 in Post. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2013. She was active in Lubbock Managed Care Board, Women's Protective Services, Garza County Theater Board, American Cancer Society and co-founded the Garza County Recovery Center.
Survivors include three daughters: Elizabeth and husband Robert Elliott of San Angelo, Rebecca Dalby of Houston and Charlcie and husband John Mosser of Lubbock, one son: Giles W. And wife Mendy Dalby Jr. of Post, one sister: Iris Truelock of Post, 10 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Garza County Recovery Center or Quest Ministries.
