Pauline "Polly"
Cravy
March 27, 1935 – February 10, 2025
Polly (Pauline) Saunders Cravy was born March 27th, 1935 to Jake and Mable (Ross) Saunders of Dallas. She was one of three girls and four boys. Polly was raised by her Aunt and Uncle and attended school in Southland, Tx. Polly married Dale Cravy of Verbena where they raised two children, Paula and Eric while farming and ranching. Polly was not a typical farm girl, but definitely had the heart of a true country girl.
She was filled with culture and class with a passion for kindness, being direct, all while having a unique sense of humor. Creative thru design and craft. However, her talent for painting was immeasurable. There was never an opportunity missed to share her love of art, especially with her grandchildren. Polly was complex, yet simplistic. Great admiration and love existed for her in-laws, Dick and Hester Cravy. She delighted in the fact she was fortunate enough to see the 100-year celebration of the family farm. We shall miss her famous cinnamon rolls, special dinners set with an elegant table and Christmas decorations forever unmatched.
Polly was not much for pomp and circumstance. But as her grandchildren would say,
" I am from Purple Pig Christmas Cookies."
" I am from home cooked meals filled with conversation."
" I am from late night cookouts at the riverbed, filled with muddy laughter."
" I am from riding horses and working cattle."
" I am from swimming in stock tanks."
" I am from the brand V7."
Polly is survived by her daughter, Paula Schwori of Lubbock, Eric (Jayta) Cravy of Verbena, sister, Lois Lee of Ft. Worth, brother, Buddy Saunders of the Metroplex, her partner of the past 17 years, Don Poteet of Post.
Grandchildren, Taylor (Ben) Decker of Houston, Ericka (Shad) Sturgeon of Seymour, Caitlin (Karlee) Cravy of Amarillo, Luke Cravy of Verbena and Claire Cravy of Verbena.
Three great grandchildren, Brecken, Bristol and Braxton Sturgeon of Seymour, Tx. Josh (Kelly) Ticer of White River, Tx.
As well her nieces and nephews and many special friends.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Heritage House in Post.
