Rita Gail (Granny) Bishop went to be with the Lord on February 29, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 6:00-7:00pm at Hudman Funeral Home in Post, TX. Funeral services will be March 4, 2024, at 2:00pm at Caprock Springs Fellowship with Curt Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Terrace Cemetery.

Rita was born December 1, 1948 in Spring Hill Texas to Samuel Weldon and Ada(Gaddis) Haddock of Avery, TX.

Rita was a devout believer of Jesus Christ, devoted mother and wife and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and her friends.Rita often enjoyed a nice evening with family, road trips to Red River, game night with the "Golden Girls" and loving on her grandkids and great grandkids anytime possible. She was the life of the party and such a light to be around. When needing advice, we could always count on her to speak the truth and lead us down the right path. Her spirit, words of wisdom, bright light, and endless love will live on forever.

She was preceded in death by her father Samuel, mother Ada, sister Evelyn, brother Sam, daughter Shana, son Keith and husband Robert Bishop.

Rita is survived by her daughter Kristie Odom and husband Mark, son Coty Tidwell and wife Sue, daughter Melissa Garland and husband John, sister Vivian Brown and husband Melton, sister JoVitaTrammel and husband Ken, brother Ray Haddock and wife Ruby, brother Kent Haddock and wife Kay, 14 grandchildren and 17 ½ great-grandchildren.
