Robert Paul
“Bobby” Cowdrey
May 31, 1936 – October 23, 2025
Robert Paul "Bobby" Cowdrey, 89, of Post, Texas, passed away October 23, 2025. His earthly journey ended exactly three years to the day after the death of his ladybug Jennie Lou, his beloved wife of nearly 68 years.
Bobby was born on May 31, 1936, to proud parents Henry Delmer and Mary Ella Clark Cowdrey in the Graham Chapel community. A post-depression baby, Bobby grew up with the family values of faith, hard work, discipline, and respect.
Bobby married the love of his life, Jennie Lou Redman, on December 6, 1954, in his family's home. They were married 67 years, 10 months, and they raised five children—Sue, Amy, Lisa, Curt, and Clay—known altogether as the "7Cs."
Bobby was a pillar of the Post community and the Graham Chapel Church of Christ. He was a man whose integrity earned him immense respect throughout his life as a dedicated husband, father, friend, church leader, landman, and much more.
He loved sharing experiences with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, like tractor rides, driving lessons after church, afternoons making and fixing things in his exceptionally organized shop, fishing adventures, storytelling sessions around the kitchen table, and more.
For the last few years, Bobby had been writing down the story of his life. His opening words capture the essence of his incredible 89+ years. He wrote, "My name is Robert Paul (Bobby) Cowdrey. I cannot express how much God blessed me greatly by allowing me to grow up in rural America during a great period of time to be a kid. He blessed me with great parents and a great extended family. He continued to bless me with a fantastically talented and beautiful wife and a fantastic family of my own."
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Henry Delmer and Mary Ella, sister Billie Windham, brother Delmer Clark "Clarky," wife Jennie Lou, daughter Ella Sue, and son-in-law James Easterling.
He is survived by daughters Amy Easterling and Lisa (Carl) Bartley, sons Curt (Donna) and Clay (Devonna) Cowdrey, son in law Gary Luft, grandchildren Garrett (Kristin) and Chase (Carli) Luft, Lem (Julianna) Bartley and Jennifer (Cole) Vanetti, Brice (Jennifer), Cole (Shannon), and Kylie Easterling, Chad (Haylee) and Caleb Cowdrey, Conner and Collier Cowdrey, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Graham Chapel Church of Christ in Post, Texas, on the corner of 15th and Ave. S. A visitation will be held 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Hudman Funeral Home.
