Roberta (Sis) Legrand, age 74 of Post Texas was called to eternal life on Friday, September 6, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Post ISD Auditorium with Evangelist Dr. Rosalind Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. A wake will be held 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the funeral home. Roberta was born on December 21st, 1949 in McMullen County, Texas to the late Raymond and Linnie Jefferson. She grew up and lived in Brownfield and Post. Roberta was blessed with seven kids from her previous unions and raised them as a single mom instilling in them the importance of God and family. Roberta obtained her certificate for nursing assistant from Gary Job Corps in 1970's. She worked as a certified nursing assistant in Lubbock Texas for many years and began to raise her family there. She moved back to Post Texas in the early 80's, and became a member of Powerhouse Church of God in Christ. At that time she worked at the Post Nursing facility. Roberta later moved to Austin Texas in 1987, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Church of the Firstborn. In 1991, Roberta returned to Post Texas and purchased her forever home. She became a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on the usher board. She worked several places including Post ISD where she eventually retired. Roberta's life was filled with joy and love from being surrounded by family and friends. Some people say she never met a stranger, and if you'd ask anyone, they'd say, "Yes we know 'Sis'". Roberta was a beautiful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, cousin, best friend, in-law, citizen, never a stranger, but most importantly a Child of God! Roberta was preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Linnie Jefferson, two sisters: Margie Smith and Bernice Gibbs, one daughter: Priscilla Martin and one grandson: Angel Delgado. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters: Faye (Dollie) Stallion of Austin Tx, Belinda (Bitty) Martin of Austin Tx, her sons: Clint Martin of Lubbock Tx, Galen Martin of Manor Tx, Keith Martin of Lubbock Tx, and Anthony Martin (wife Melissa) of Leander Tx. Also, her sisters: Marylou Wilborn of Slaton Tx, Betty Sue Curtis of Post Tx, her brothers: Raymond (Bubba) Jefferson of Post Tx and Johnny (Tate Ed) Jefferson of Post Tx. As well as fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, many cousins, nephews, nieces, family, friends and community. Pallbearers will be Brandon Martin, Quincy Martin, Tevin Martin, CL Martin, AJ Martin, Sam Martin, Dayton Snow, Travis Greathouse and Marquez Perez. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jay Whitehead.
