Roberta "Bert" Leigh Goodgion West was born on February 23, 1934 in Lubbock, Texas to Talbot Zilman Goodgion and Mamie Bell McClatchy Goodgion. She passes from this life into her eternal life on November 14, 2023 at the age of 89. Bert marries Robert "Bob" Weldon West on July 28th, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas. They had one daughter Misty Leigh West Agnew on June 11, 1967. Misty is married to John Agnew and lived in Levelland, Texas. Bert and Bob were married and shortly after moved to California for Bob to finish his time in the Navy. They returned to Texas around 1957. They bought land in Post, Texas in the Graham Community and moved onto the farm in 1970. Bert Worked as a secretary for several places through her life, The Ford House of Post, TX and Bryon J. Williams Insurance of Post. She also spent several years in the summers working at the Graham Gin. But her greatest joy was raising her daughter and chose to only work where she could be home with her after school. Bob and Bert built a Western Wear Store in Post, Texas in 1976 and had it until 1985 when she moved to Lubbock, Texas. In Lubbock she worked at Gene Messer Form and eventually retired from the Texas Railroad Commission. She has resided in Levelland, Texas with her daughter since 2014. Bert was proceeded in death by her husband Bob, her parents Talbot and Mamie, and her sisters Lois Monell Goodgion and her husband Clarence Earl Morris of Lubbock, TX. Ophelia Lafern and her husband Charley Lee Thomas of Lubbock, TX. And Letta Mae and Husband Walter Thebeau of Washington, MO. Dee Iva and husband Clifford Hamilton of Lubbock, TX.  Eliza Bell and husband Delmar Thomas Diffey of San Angelo, Texas. Also proceeding her are three brothers, Eddie William Goodgion and wife Geraldine Dickson of Lubbock, Texas. Talbot Zilman Goodgion Jr and wife Joann Edwards of Roswell, New Mexico. Jonny Overton Goodgion and wife Janice Ayers of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bert also had a precious son-in-law Jesse Samora Basquez that will be waiting with open arms when she gets to heaven, and he passed on July 24th, 2012. Bert is also survived by her daughter Misty and husband John Agnew from Levelland, Texas. Three grandsons James "Heath" Fellhauer and wife Beth of Abilene, Texas. Travis "Hunter" Fellhauer of Levelland, Texas. Holden Lee Basquez and wife Kaitlynn of Levelland, Texas. She has one step granddaughter Taysa Louise Agnew of Lubbock, Texas. One step grandson Jeffery Austin Agnew of Gilbert, Arizona. She has two granddaughters of Abilene, Texas Kathryn Grace Fellhauer and Kenzlee Ann Fellhauer. And one grandson Kamden James Fellhauer of Abilene, Texas. One step grandson Dayu Timothy Wheeler of Lubbock, Texas. One heartfelt grandson Jaden Duane Wiseman of Irving, Texas. And one ex son-in -law Jim Fellhauer of Lubbock, Texas. And many nieces and nephews that she adored. Bert passed in the loving arms of her family. In leiu of flowers the family suggests donations to Bert's favorite charity St. Judes. Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 20, 2023 at Graham Chapel Church of Christ. Interment followed at Terrace Cemetery.
