Graveside services for Rowena Pierce, 85, of Post will be at 11 AM, Tuesday January 23, 2018 in Terrace Cemetery with Karen and Tony Conner of Midland officiating. Burial in Terrace Cemetery will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
Rowena died on January 20, 2018 at her home in Post. She was born on August 16, 1932 in Quinlan, Tx to Earl and Gertrude (Cook) Hodges. She attended Post schools and graduated from Texas Tech University. She married George T. Pierce on August 5, 1956 in Post. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1993. She taught school for the Post Independent School District for many years. Rowena was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons: Jimmy Pierce of Lubbock and Gearge T. (Butch) Pierce Jr. of Lubbock, one granddaughter: Amanda Jo Pierce of Lamesa, two great grandchildren: Morgan Nicole Coomer of Lamesa and Justin Tanner Peterson of Lamesa. She is also survived by a special friend Laura Gilbert.
