Services for Ruben "Shiner" Harper, 101, of Shiner, Texas and formerly of Post will be at 1 PM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Post. Burial in Terrace Cemetery will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation was held at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home in Yoakum on January 30, 2021.

He died on January 26, 2021 at his home in Shiner. He was born on November 12, 1919 in Shiner, Texas to Ruben and Mattie (Williams) Harper.Shiner was a farmer and the proud father of ten children. He enjoyed playing dominoes, dancing, working on cars and family time.

Survivors include seven daughters, LuVenia Ricks, Ionia Harper, Ruthie Sloan, Rosa Hearne, Alice Harper, Joann Stafford and Erma Harper; two sons, Donnell Harper and L. D. Harper and step-son, Ray Lee Wilson; 14 Grandchildren and 14 Great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Bouldon and numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Callie (Greathouse) Harper; son, David Harper; sister, Marie Dottson and brother, Efran Harper.
