Shirley Ann Wilson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in her home in Post, Texas on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
She was born July 26, 1953 to James Herman Hill and Betty Jo Hornbeck in Stuttgart, Germany. She was raised in Artesia, NM., lived in Indiana, Illinois, New Mexico and Texas. She worked in Labor & Delivery in Tyler, Texas, which was very important to her. She was married to Bill Wilson on December 3, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they resided in Post, Texas. She worked at George’s Restaurant, and at the Garza County Juvenile Detention Center as a correctional officer. After her retirement she cared for her fur babies and loved and adored her grandkids and great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents TJ and Betty Burnes, sister Charlotte Harendt and father James Herman Hill.
Shirley is survived by her husband Bill Wilson of 34 years, daughter Shauna Oberg and husband Josh, Cliff Downs and wife Autumn, grandchildren Kiara, Levi, Kelsie, Maddison, Carter, Josh, Hailey, Sarah and her animals Cricket, Skeeter, Spike, Casper and Lilly Mae.
A visitation will be held at Hudman Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Post on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Jimmy Valdez and Rev. Keith Garner officiating. Services will be live streamed. The family also requests casual dress.
Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Less Looney, David Hernandez, Stephen Montoya, Cliff Downs, Josh Oberg and Steven Huff.
In Lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be made to Post Animal Refuge Center.
