Born December 5,1954 in Slaton, Tx to Gene and Thelma Mason, who preceded him in death. He went to be with his heavenly father Friday December 1, 2023. He married Janice Kay Mc Donald March 26,1977 at Grassland Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his daughter Tamara Reed, husband Will Reed their children Mason, Collin and Kate'Lynn. He is also survived by his son Byron Mason and Megan, their children Keegan, Rian, and Lennox.  He has a brother Randy Mason of Slaton, Tx and a sister Debra (WD) Sims of Slaton, Tx.  He also has numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Steve loved Jesus, was a loving father, devoted husband, and couldn't have been prouder of his grandchildren. Anyone that knew him well knew he also loved his dog Oliver (His Little Man). He loved to pick his guitar and sing.

For many years he was known around town as friendly mailman who always had a pipe in his mouth.  After he retired from the Postal Service, he attended International Business College and opened Masons Computer Service.  He took great pleasure in calling Post Antelope Football for KPOS, and even earned the nickname The Golden Voice Antelope Football.  That same voice could be heard in the mornings on KPOS/KSSL 107.3FM.

Visitation will be at Hudman Funeral Home on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 4, 2023 at Grassland Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at Grassland Cemetery.
