Steven Charles Cooper
June 5, 1955 – October 2, 2026
Steven Charles Cooper, formerly of Post, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, with his forever love, Karen, by his side.
Born on June 5, 1955, Steve lived a life rooted in family, love, loyalty, and the people who meant the most to him. He was a man who
loved deeply, gave generously, and left an imprint on the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
After years apart, Steve was reunited with the love of his life, Karen Young Cooper, and the two were married on December 29, 2023.
They made their home together in Christoval, Texas, where they shared a beautiful chapter of life filled with love, companionship,
and the simple blessing of having found their way back to one another. Steve and Karen’s love was one that stood the test of time—
a love that was truly meant to be, and one that now carries on beyond this life.
Steve was a devoted father to Amber (Shane) Mobley, Quinton (Amanda) Cooper, Luke (Shannon) Cooper, Aaron (Meghan) Cooper,
and Amanda (Tom) Rasmussen. His greatest joy was watching his family grow and being surrounded by the children and
grandchildren he loved so dearly.
He was a proud grandfather to Kaegan and Zoee Jeffrey, Hunter Cooper, Savannah (Austin) Hill, Cain, Kenedy and Grace Cooper,
Emma, Mattie and Thomas Rasmussen, Ripley (Nicki) Youngblood, Charleigh Youngblood, Garrett and Gunner Claybrook, and a
cherished great-grandfather to Hayes Hill. His family was his legacy, and the love he poured into them will continue through every
generation.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Young Cooper; his children and their spouses; his grandchildren and great-grandchild;
his sister, Debbie (Bruce) Ledbetter; sister-in-law, Deb Young; brother-in-law, Robert Young; mother-in-law, Betty Young; along with
numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Myra Cooper, along with other loved ones who undoubtedly welcomed him
home with open arms.
Steve was a proud and dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge. His commitment to the brotherhood was a meaningful part of his
life, and he was honored to receive his 40-year Masonic pin, recognizing four decades of dedication, brotherhood, and service.
Steve will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the friendships he made, the stories he shared, and the many lives he
touched along the way. Though his absence leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, his memory will live on in the hearts of his
wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, family, and friends.
He has left this earthly life, but he did not leave empty-handed. He leaves behind a family who carries his love, his memories, and a
piece of him in all that they are.
A graveside service honoring Steve’s life will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm, Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas.
The service will be officiated by Jeff Williams and held under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers and honoring Steve’s memory will be his sons, Quinton Cooper, Luke Cooper, and Aaron Cooper; his
grandsons, Kaegan Jeffrey, Hunter Cooper, and Cain Cooper; and his nephew, Matthew Ledbetter.
