Obituary

Sue Johnson, 86, of Slaton, Tx passed away on Sunday February 23rd 2025. There will be a visitation at Hudman Funeral Home on Thursday February 27th 2025 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Funeral services will be held Friday February 28th 2025 at 2:00 pm at Hudman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Justin Johnson, Shawn Yates, Riggin Johnson and Kagen Welch, Charles Kirkland, Johnnie Kirkland. Honorary pallbearers are Zachary Yates, Korey Morales and Jacoby Johnson.

Sue was born on January 10th 1939 in El Centro, California. She was raised in Rochester, Tx where she met the love of her life, Johnnie Johnson. The two were married February 21st 1953 in Tucumcari, NM and she spent the next 63 years of her life by his side. Sue lived the life of an Army wife for many years before the two love birds found their home in West Texas. They raised their children in Lubbock, Tx then moved to Post where they owned Johnnie Johnson Exxon. After working with her husband at the service station Sue spent many devoted years to Lubbock ISD where she later retired and the two moved to Slaton and enjoyed their final years as full time grandparents.

Sue was a loving Mom/Mammaw/Aunt that will be deeply missed by her loved ones, but there is peace knowing that she has been reunited with the loved ones that have gone before her.

Sue was survived by her son Roger and wife Debbie Johnson of Vernon, Tx, Grandsons Justin and Wife Kelly Johnson of Guthrie, Tx and Shawn Yates of Lubbock, Tx, Granddaughters Shyla Johnson and fiance Matt Ashcraft of Chillicothe Tx, and Marli Johnson and fiance Josh Burnett of Quanah, Tx, and 12 Great Grandkids Riggin, Tori, Journey, Kelton, Jewel, Zachary, Kagen, Jacoby, Kenli, Kyra, Kaley, and Korey, and two special nieces that she loved as her own, Ginger Henry and Brenda Nolan

She was preceded in death by her parents Mart Butler, and Monte and Mike Delozier, her husband, Johnnie Johnson, her daughters, Becky Johnson and Belinda Yates and her sister Mary Arend.
