Tom Middleton
Services for Tom Middleton, 82, of Post will be at 10 AM Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church with John Bill Hedrick of Graham Chapel Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
J. C. "Tom" Middleton was born December 22, 1934 in Borger, Tx to Calvin Middleton and Dezzie Faulkner Gordon. He died June 21, 2017 in Lubbock, Tx. He graduated high school in Canyon, Texas and was a graduate of West Texas State University. He served in the US Army and Reserves and was awarded a regular army commission. He was the commander of the Tulia and Plainview reserve units. He achieved the rank of Captain.
Tom began his professional career with Goodpasture Inc. working for Grady Goodpasture. He then went on to spend 26 years with Allied Chemical Corporation in the fertilizer and feed divisions. He returned to Goodpasture Inc. as the Executive Vice President in 1985 and retired to the family ranch in 2002.
He loved his family and friends, and had the gift of making life long friends by striking up a conversation. Tom took the time and made the effort to stay in touch.
He loved the Lord, a good rain, fat cattle and buckskin horses.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Churchin Post. Tom is survived by his wife, Janey, of 53 years and a daughter, Jana Middleton. He is preceded in death by one son, Brett Middleton.
