Services for Tommy Young, 82, of Post will be at 10 AM, Tuesday September 6, 2022 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Kenley and Rev Keith Garner officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Tommy died on September 3, 2022 in Lubbock. He was born on February 17, 1940 in Post to Alvin and Mary Gale (Baker) Young. He graduated from Post High School and attended West Texas State University. Tommy married Ruth Ann Long on January 29, 1960 in Post. He was a member of the Post Masonic Lodge and the First Baptist Church. He farmed and ranched in Garza County for many years. Tommy also served as Precinct 3 County Commissioner for several terms.

Survivors include his wife: Ruth Ann Young of Post, two sons: Jay Young of Post and Ken (DeAnn) Young of Post, one daughter: D'Lynn (Jayson) Barnhart of Flower Mound, six grandchildren: J D Young of Post, Emma Barnhart of Flower Mound, Jack Barnhart of Flower Mound, Drew Barnhart of Flower Mound, Audra (Cisco) Cavasos of Slaton and Nick Bryant of Post and one great grandchild: Harlynn Cavasos of Slaton.
