Valerie Melton went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Valerie was born on April 13, 1968 in Grand Prairie, Texas to Jimmy Baker and Kay Ballentine Horner. She attended Post High School and graduated in 1986. Valerie married Randy Melton on November 15, 2002. Throughout her life she held several jobs, primarily as a health care provider. The elderly held a special place in her heart. She worked at Golden Plains Nursing Home for many years where she loved and cared for many residents. Her second love was cooking for others. She was able to work side by side with her aunt at CoCaRa's restaurant where she filled the hearts and bellies of many. Valerie is survived by her husband Randy Melton of Post; sons James Ryne Striblin and wife Shayla of Lubbock, Gregory Striblin of Post; daughters Kelli Torres and husband Johnny of Post, Brandy Quinonez and husband Ricky of Post; eleven grandchildren; aunt/mom Judy Bush and Uncle Ricky Bush; sisters Cindy Herridge and husband Jibber, Jana Underwood and husband Ray Don, Kerri Dean and husband Robby and Krisha Perez and husband Roy; brothers Kevin Crispin and Kelly Davis and wife Corinna. She was preceded in death by her mother Kay Horner and father Jimmy Baker, grandmother Fannie Ballentine, aunt/mom Jane Terry and uncle Mack. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 19, 2022 at Terrace Cemetery with Robby Dean officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Hudman Funeral Home.
