January 22, 1941 – January 25, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, grandmother, aunt and friend, Vicenta Soto Golden, who left this world peacefully on January 25, 2025, at the age of 84. She was the cherished daughter of Gregorio Soto and Ysabel Soto citizens of Post, both whom preceded her in death.

Born in Post, TX on January 22, 1941, she brought light, love, and laughter into the lives of everyone who was blessed to know her. Chenta was a vivacious spirit, full of life and love, with a laugh so contagious that it could brighten even the darkest day. Her presence was beautiful, her energy uplifting, and her love for her family unwavering. She was the heart and soul of so many cherished moments, a constant source of encouragement, and an example of strength, grace, and generosity.

Chenta is survived by her loving husband Michael Golden of Abernathy, TX and her loving children, Segundo Salas of Chicago, Maria Felix Salas of Chicago, and Juan Salas of Lubbock, Texas who were her greatest pride and joy, and her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her devoted brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and countless family members and friends who loved her deeply.

Family was at the center of everything Chenta did, and she gave her all to those she held close. Whether it was through her warm embraces, her infectious laughter, or the way she brought people together, she made every gathering feel special and every person feel seen and loved.

While our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in the many memories we shared, the lessons she taught us, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. She is now reunited with loved ones who passed before her, and we know her vibrant spirit will continue to shine down on us.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."  2 Timothy 4:7-8

A celebration of Chenta's beautiful life will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Church of God of Prophecy, followed by a graveside service in Post, TX. All who knew and loved her are warmly invited to join us in honoring her memory.
