Obituary

Wanda Blacklock

1930-2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda Blacklock of Post, TX. She departed this world on June 1st, 2025. Wanda was born on March 10th, 1930 to Wylie and Allie Melton in Justiceburg, TX. She resided in Garza County throughout her life. Wanda married Billy Blacklock May 30th, 1946 and had two sons, Billy Jr and Donald. She is survived by 3 grandchildren,  Tina Blacklock Martinez of Post, Jason Blacklock of Smyer, and Jared Blacklock of Post. Wanda was blessed to see 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Wanda was more than a farmer/rancher's wife and mother. She found great satisfaction in cooking for others, gardening,  sewing, and sharing wisdom with her grandchildren. In her later years, Wanda enjoyed the company and friendships at Garza Co Trailblazers. She was also active with Justiceburg Baptist Church for many years and First Baptist Church of Post, TX. She was known for her quick witted replies, her sense of humor, but most of all her generosity in helping others.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Post, TX on Thursday June the 5th at 10 am. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Wanda was an ever present beacon of light and will be missed.
