Obituary

"Bud" William D. Howell, age 94, went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born to William and Emma Jane Howell on August 27, 1929, in Minerva, Texas.


He was a proud Veteran who served his country while on a Navy destroyer during the Korean War.


After the war, he went to school and became a Texas Game Warden. He served in several counties in East Texas and then set roots in Post, Texas. He retired in 1991 after serving the State of Texas for 35 years as a Texas Game Warden.


Bud married Ann Bishop on November 3, 2011, in Lubbock, Texas.


He loved the Lord, his family, all things outdoors, and his cat.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann of Lubbock, and a sister, Susie Weems of Rockdale. Step-daughter Kelly and husband Wade Maner, step-granddaughter Amy Maner, all of Lubbock. Nephew Ted and wife Amy Weems of Justiceburg, niece Diane and husband John Fishero of Spring and many other family and friends.


Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Hudman Funeral Home in Post, Texas, from 6-7:30 p.m. Private services for the immediate family will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.


In memory of Bud, the family asks, "Are you a turtle?"
